Indie publishing in the 2020s

Professionalising and succeeding as an independent publisher

There are more than 1,000,000 self-published books a year. It’s a ridiculously high number and Indie publishers are currently a significant challenge to the traditionally published industry. Despite inroads indie publishers have made in recent years, they face barriers. Competition to get noticed is fierce. And the current business model of book distribution and media bias against self-published books is still a significant factor.

An important step to overcome these barriers is for Indie publishers to present work that is first class. Join sponsors of the Writer’s Forum: Andy McDermott, Ocean Reeve, Alex Fullerton and moderator: Debbie Lee (Ingram Spark) as they discuss the industry and how they help Indie publishers achieve the best they can and ‘win’ in this industry.
