Malcolm Knox

Malcolm Knox is the multi-award winning author of eight novels, most recently The First Friend, and many non-fiction books and television screenplays. He has written for The Sydney Morning Herald since 1994 and has won three Walkley Awards and a Human Rights Award.

Malcolm’s debut novel, A Private Man, was the winner of the Ned Kelly Award; since then, his work has won or been shortlisted for a variety of recognitions including the Commonwealth Prize, the Prime Minister’s Literary Award, the Tasmanian Premier’s Award, the Perkin Award, and the Colin Roderick Award, which he won in 2007.
