TONY WINDSOR was a state and then federal politician for over twenty years, representing the electorate of Tamworth and New England respectively as an Independent. During this time he has fought numerous battles with miners to protect landowners in one of the richest agricultural regions in NSW. He was a tireless worker on issues and policies affecting the New England electorate and has held executive positions with many community and country organisations.
His autobiography Windsor’s Way was published in 2015 by MUP.
Tony holds a degree in Economics from UNE and is a primary producer. He lives with his wife Lyn near Werris Creek, a small town with a population of well under 2,000 north of Quirindi in the New England district of NSW, where he has lived all his life.
He retired from politics in 2013, but is now returning to the field to challenge the Deputy Prime Minister and National Party leader Barnaby Joyce for his seat of New England in the coming federal election.
