Known best for her in-depth sports reporting, Debbie was the ABC’s first full-time female sports broadcaster in 1984, and co-hosted Triple J’s Drive program in the 1990s. She was also a regular panellist on Andrew Denton’s Live & Sweaty on ABC TV. She joined ABC NewsRadio in 2002 and became host of ABC Radio’s Grandstand in 2012.

Having moved to the Mid North Coast in recent years, Spillane currently presents her music/interview program Songversations on local Community radio 2BBB FM and is also a board member at the station.
