Ross Macleay
Ross Macleay is a local botanist and philosopher and author of ‘Nature and Culture; essays on nature, ecology, place and the Bellinger Valley’. His new collection of essays, ‘On, in, from, over Bellingen’ is being launched at the festival. Ross is also leading a short walk in a small town.
A very short walk, distance wise, through the inner precinct of Bellingen to reveal the cultural sites that crowd together in this part of town and to reflect on their literary, historical and artistic significance.
Visitors to Bellingen can expect to learn something of the town that lurks behind the tourist brochures. Locals who know something of this area and its history should feel free to share their knowledge.
