LEE KOFMAN is a novelist, short story writer, essayist, memoirist and sometime-poet whose memoir, The Dangerous Bride: Memoir of Love, Gods and Geography, was listed in Recommended Books 2014 (The Age and Australian Book Review) and 2015 (The Age). Her short works have been published both nationally and internationally and her writing has won many awards, including an Australia Council grant and the Varuna Eric Dark Flagship Fellowship.
Since 2003, Lee has held fiction and creative non-fiction workshops and courses in community organisations, medical associations, libraries, TAFEs, CAE, writers’ festivals and writing centres, and she speaks publicly about her writing around Australia. She is also a mentor for writers and a number of her authors have gone on to publish.
Lee has participated in many literary events and festivals as a panellist, moderator, speaker and lecturer. In 2015, she took part in Curiosity Lectures at the Sydney Writers’ Festival. She is a blogger-in-residence for Writers Victoria and her private blog about the writing process, Writing Life, was a finalist for Best Australian Blogs 2014.
Lee’s next book, an anthology called Rebellious Daughters: Australian Writers Tell Their Stories in Memoir, which she co-edited, will be released in August 2016. www.leekofman.com.au
