KIM HODGES’s first book, called Girl on the Edge: An Arresting Memoir , was released in early 2016. Set in a small town in a remote rural area, it is written through a sensitive adolescent lens and reflections as an adult. It explores identity, belonging and alienation, as well as class, gender and power.
Kim uses wry humour to offset the often confronting content. This strong and emotional coming of age story will speak to anyone who has ever felt alone or betrayed.
Kim has a Masters Degree in Policy from the University of Wollongong and an undergraduate degree in Sociology from UTS. She has advised government policy for health, gender and housing issues and, most recently, has worked as an academic for SCU.
