Jenevieve is an actor, dancer and author. She holds a BA in Communications (Theatre/Media), a Professional Diploma in Contemporary Dance and an MA in Movement Studies. Her projects have included the solo Elle ne dort jamais non enfance which toured around the world; Double Negative (Chopped Logic Theatre) exploring the plight of human trafficking in the UK; her one woman show On the Face of it, which explored the East–West colonial relationship through the filter of a doomed, time-leaping romance; Chinese Takeaway, a satire about the commodification of Chinese culture and fetishisation of the female body, in which Jenevieve performed as a pole dancing prawn.

Between 2008–2010 Jenevieve lived in Shanghai working as a showgirl and eventually show manager of China’s first Vaudeville, Variety and Burlesque club. Upon returning to Australia, she decided to experiment with a different lifestyle and became Senior Course Manager at NIDA for three years while she wrote her memoir The Good Girl of Chinatown. The writing process was helped by Stories Then and Now, presented by Contemporary Asian Australian Performance as she overcame her squeamishness about talking about her family.
