Jane is the Executive Director of Writing NSW (formerly known as the NSW Writers’ Centre). The organisation was incorporated in 1991 as a non-profit association to promote writing-based culture and the rights and interests of writers.
As a writer herself, Jane specialises in writing in the fields of science and medicine. She is the former news and features editor of the leading medical publication Australian Doctor, and has also worked for The Age and contributed to publications including the British Medical Journal, The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald. She is the co-editor of The Best Australian Science Writing 2013 and the author of Beyond X & Y: Inside the Science of Gender.
Jane also reviews books for The Australian newspaper and Sydney Review of Books. She is based in Sydney.
