ELIZABETH ROUTLEDGE has been an actor since 1985. Since moving to Bellingen 15 years ago, she has produced, directed and acted in many productions including The Vagina Monologues, King Lear (playing the eye-gouging Regan), T.S. Eliot’s The Cocktail Party and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams.
Since 2007, she started to share her poetry at The BellaBooks Café, Last Friday of the Month Poetry Nights (now at Alternatives Bookshop in Bellingen).
In 2010, she won the Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup and in 2012 the Peats Ridge Poetry Slam. She has been running and MC of the Bello Slam as part of the Readers & Writers Festival since its beginning.
In 2014, Liz wrote Flooded Stories from a Small Town, which was described as “A fantastic production with incredible historical footage melded to a present day twist”.
Liz is now living in Sydney and recently appeared in the Top 80 in the Short + Sweet Festival, the largest ten-minute play festival in the world.
