Charlotte Wood’s latest novel Animal People has been described as “superb storytelling” by The Australian, while The Age called her “one of the most intelligent and compassionate novelists in Australia” and Australian Book Review, “a consummate observer of the human condition”.
Charlotte’s novels have been shortlisted for various awards including the Miles Franklin Award and the regional Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for The Submerged Cathedral in 2005. In 2009 she edited Brothers & Sisters, a collection of short stories about siblings by 12 of Australia’s finest writers.
Charlotte writes a cookery blog at www.howtoshuckanoyster.com and a book of personal essays about the emotional and symbolic terrain of cooking, Love & Hunger: Notes & Thoughts on the Gift of Food, will be published in May 2012. She lives inSydney with her husband and is writing her fifth novel.
