WHEN: Sunday, 25 June, 2pm
VENUE: Cedar Bar & Kitchen, Church St., Bellingen (back room)

The full Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival is having a break in 2017, in order to re-organise and re-energise itself. And while we have maintained the Schools Program and Poetry Slam events this year, the future of the larger festival is at risk.

Following the successful 2016 event, several key members of the Festival committee left the area, or resigned. If the festival is to continue in 2018 it is absolutely necessary to expand the organisation’s current membership and to fill several of the committee’s vacant Office Bearer positions.

To this end, we’ve called a Public Meeting for Sunday afternoon, 25th June at 2pm, in the back room of the Cedar Bar & Kitchen, Church Street, Bellingen.

While there are a number of both old and new Committee members still involved, we would welcome more new, committed volunteer members, and it is essential to fill all of our Office Bearer positions, which include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Publicity Officer. We are also hoping to attract new energy to the all-important Program Director position – perhaps in a shared role capacity.

So if you have a passion for reading, creative writing, fiction, non-fiction, poetry or any other literary pursuit, we urge you to come along to this Special Public Meeting, become a member, take part in a discussion about the future of this valued festival, and help to select a new re-energised committee to take it forward.

Annual membership of the Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival Inc. only costs $5, and you will be able to join at the meeting.
